Agile Tools & Techniques – Value Based Prioritization trong Agile – Luyện thi PMI-ACP

Value Base Prioritization is one of ten Agile Tools & Techniques, appear around 50% in the PMI-ACP exam.

According to PMI-ACP Exam Outline, Value Based Prioritization includes ROI (Return On Investment), NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), Compliance, Customer-valued prioritization, MMF (Minimally markable feature), and Relative Prioritization / Ranking.

Prioritization is to organize things so that the most important ones are to be dealt with first

Value-driven delivery is an overarching principle for Agile projects. Projects are carried out to realize values (e.g. economic benefits, competitive advantages, reducing risks, regulatory compliance, etc.)

In terms of Agile project management (and the PMI-ACP® exam), prioritization is the process where customers organize / select product backloguser stories for implementation based on the perceived values.

Value Based Prioritization includes:

  1. ROI / NPV / IRR – tools to assist prioritization based on monetary values. These calculations are performed during the selecting / justifying projects, the best projects are the ones with the largest ROI / highest NPV / highest IRR
  2. Compliance
  3. Customer-valued prioritization
  4. Minimally Marketable Features (MMF)
